October Travel Tip: Pinehurst Resort, North Carolina

One of my favorite memories of the year happened at the beginning of August when 12 of my good friends went on our annual golf trip. This year we went to Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC.

If you’re a golfer, this place is Candyland and has hosted several prestigious golf tournaments including three U.S. Open Championships, one U.S. Women's Open, three U.S. Amateur Championships, one PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup.

There are NINE courses on the property and several others within a short drive. The accommodations are fantastic and although it was very hot, we had an incredible time!

We played 4 rounds at Pinehurst, and my brother Corey and I being the golf nuts we are opted for a fifth round at Pine Needles, which will host the 2022 US Woman’s Open! Pine Needles is a very cool course that I highly recommend visiting. The highlight of the trip was playing Pinehurst No. 2, which is ranked as one of the top 10 courses in the world. We had a fantastic round with some very entertaining caddies to guide us along the way.

Afterwards we sat on the huge wrap around porch and enjoyed the weekend drink of choice “The Transfusion”. Check out the recipe below and it’s best enjoyed with cigars! ;)

Transfusion Cocktail Ingredients: Vodka, Grape Juice, and Ginger Ale. Then stir, add a lime, and enjoy!

These trips are always a blast because the friends are spread out across the country. From New Jersey to San Francisco. Especially with Covid this past year it’s great to get everyone together and enjoy the friendships and golf!
